It’s a sport
Airsoft is an increasingly popular sport among military and law enforcement enthusiasts, due to its realistic action and ability to replicate military scenarios. There are various rules and etiquette procedures players must abide by when participating in airsoft; these unspoken rules help preserve its integrity while also safeguarding participant safety.
Scott Frank was instrumental in propelling airsoft as a serious military simulation by designing reusable grenades that loaded with paint or pellets and were designed to explode upon release of highly pressurized gas, adding an authentic experience. These devices allowed airsoft to enter military and law enforcement training grounds worldwide despite China’s ban, since its replica standard made it difficult for individuals to acquire airsoft weapons themselves. Nonetheless, many still participated actively.
It’s safe
Airsoft contains many safety rules that must be observed, with players always remaining conscious of other players on the field. Any physical contact should be avoided; any sign of aggressive play should be immediately reported to an admin as this can lead to injuries and even be cause for removal from play.
Players often ask if airsoft guns can be fired in space, and the answer is yes. Bolt actions, gas blowbacks and HPA-powered guns will work due to having internal propellant to push out BBs from their guns; AEGs however will not function because they require external air pressure to compress and push piston.
